Delete your account
Follow the steps below to request deletion of your Washington & Wells Client Portal account and the personal data we hold for portal purposes.
Who can use this
Account deletion applies to registered users of the Client Portal (web and mobile apps). You must be able to prove you control the account (typically by emailing us from the address on file).
How to request deletion
- Send an email from your registered account email to support@washingtonandwells.com.
- Use the subject line Account deletion request and include your full name and the email address associated with your portal account.
- Optional: mention whether you use the iOS or Android app (or web only) so we can confirm removal of device tokens (e.g. push notification identifiers).
For privacy-specific questions or to exercise other data rights, you may also contact privacy@washingtonandwells.com.
What we delete or deactivate
After we verify your request, we will delete or anonymize portal-related personal data tied to your user account where we are not required to retain it by law or professional rules. This typically includes:
- Your portal profile (name, phone, preferences, push token if stored)
- Authentication credentials for the Client Portal (your sign-in is revoked)
- In-app data linked to your user ID that exists solely for portal operation (e.g. messages, appointments, and uploads stored under your account in our systems), subject to the exceptions below
Legal and professional records: If you are or were a client, Washington & Wells may be required to retain certain records for legal, regulatory, or ethical reasons (for example, attorney work product or matter files). In those cases we will delete or restrict access to portal copies where permitted and retain only what the law or our professional duties require.
How long it takes
We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within five (5) business days and complete verification and deletion of portal data within thirty (30) days, unless a longer period is required by law or the complexity of your matter. We will confirm by email when processing is complete or explain any delay.
